Quality Assurance Director
Quality Assurance DirectorKelsey comes from a diverse background with roots in animal behavior, veterinary science, infectious disease, and biomedical research. A passion for medicine, science, and a curiosity about the unique behaviors of animals led her to humble beginnings in veterinary hospitals. As curiosity outgrew the clinical setting, she bridged the gap from animal husbandry to biomedical research and was soon heading grant-funded research projects in cardiac medicine with a focus on learning and teaching the Langendorff method of studying live heart function. In this lab, she was published as a contributing author for a paper Biomedical Pharmacology. Shortly after, a grant-funded position with the Ohio State University Department of Veterinary Biosciences sent her to Africa to study the longitudinal immunity of nomadic cattle herds affected with Foot and Mouth Disease, which lead to further research in virology at the nation’s leading federal research facility at Plum Island Animal Disease Center. While in Africa, she began learning about other endemic infectious diseases and earned a position back at Ohio State’s School of Pharmacy studying the intricacies of the parasitic disease Leishmaniasis, where she was published as a contributing author in Biomedical Microdevices.
